Obituary for Madelyn R. Hershberger

Madelyn R. Hershberger
Hershberger
Madelyn (Hyatt)

Of Penn Hills, passed away on Thursday December 28, 2017 at age 91 from heart problems. She is now reunited with her soul mate and love of her life, Raymond. Born in Connellsville, PA to Wilbert Hyatt and Dora (Smith). Madelyn married Raymond Guie Hershberger, on his 18th birthday, when she was 16. They were married for 60 years, before his death in 2004, and were members of the Greatest Generation. Madelyn was a founding and lifelong member of Faith United Church of Christ. Madelyn's passions were gardening, crossword puzzles, high heels, horror movies, and of course her family. Her values were rock strong and she was devoid of dishonesty or deceit. She was politically savvy to her last day. She is survived by her devoted children, sons, Ron, and Gary (Denise) and daughter, Shere (Eric), sister, Wanda Lee (Sonny) and sister-in-law, Louise. Seven Grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren. Madelyn was a spark of life and she will be forever missed-- as will her apple pies-- but will forever live in our hearts. We miss you Mom! Services are entrusted to: Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd. 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road) Penn Hills, PA 15235. Where visitation will be held Saturday December 30th from 3-6 p.m. and a Funeral Service will be Tuesday January 2nd at 10 a.m. Interment Private.
